Raised in Stranraer on a diet of Robert Burns and Harry Lauder, Jarad Rowan is a Scots balladeer for the 21st century. His love for traditional Scottish song began in childhood, however it was during the pandemic that Rowan found his audience, amassing over half a million followers off the back of his home recorded renditions of the songs he grew up with.
On his debut album (out soon on Wee Studio Records) Jarad takes the tartan anthems of days gone by and shocks them to life with foot-stomping, ceilidh-bangers, creating singalong folk and trad anthems for the modern era. His magnetic charisma and bold, rich voice have won over audiences all around Scotland from pub stages to festival headlines.
